Chinchillas are very special and need proper care and attention. Diet is very, very important. Always make sure you feed him quality chinchilla pellets and hay.
When you get him, just take things slowly ... they need time to settle into their new home and feel safe and secure. Cheeky Chinchillas.

Comments: Hi I went to see my new chinchilla today he's called Milo, I have looked at this website for lots of tips and advice on how to look after him and things, I have bookmarked it so that if I have any concerns I can get to it quickly. Milo is a beautiful little boy who is only 4 weeks old, he will be moving in with me at the end of October and I am soo pleased that I found the chinchilla I wanted. I think it's also true that Animals choose their owners, and stuff, I was looking for a Wilson white Chinchilla and had a look on Pets for home website and saw him, I knew he was the perfect boy for me. I rang the breeder and she still had him. She sent me some more pictures of him and I fell head over heals in love, I went to see him and he came out to say Hi, he came straight to me without any problems, and even made me chuckle when I held him to my friend to hold as he refused to sit with him at first. He's definately a girls chinchilla, he's beautiful and very sweet in everyway. He fell asleep in my hands which I considered an honour, as he must have felt safe with me. Thank you for your tips too. I will be picking him up in October and I will be ensuring that I have prepared everything ready before I go and collect him.

Comments: I love your site, it was very helpful. I would've liked to see an example of a chinchilla cage.FOr example: what goes in it, how it should be set up, etc. I am hoping to get a chinchilla in the near future so I was hoping to see pictures to understand how to set it up. O ther than that it was very helpful.

Comments: I have a Chinchilla booked..unfortanately the girl who has them is finding it difficult to get them weaned. They are about 14 weeks old now and she is getting extremely concerned as they are still suckling Mum and not eating very much solid food. The local vets have told her to give Mum something to dry her milk up....she's obviously reluctant to do this so would welcome any advice. Anybody else experienced this? She did try taking Mum out for a day but the babies just ended up looking ill so she put Mum back....
