Comments: I wish I had found this site before! It's with such sadness that I'm browsing chinnie sites tonight, as my little man Antony, died last night.
I think I may have had the longest living chinchilla known - Antony was 24 years old, and just 2 weeks short of his 25th birthday. My father used to breed chinchillas for showing and selling as pets, Antony (and his sister, Cleopatra) were the first 2 babies he bred from his original pair, way back in 1984 when I was just 16! I fell in love with the newborn bundles of fur and demanded to have one of them in my bedroom as my own pet. Ant has been with me ever since - he has moved all over the country with me over the years since I left home. It is only in the last 6 months or so that he has started to look and show his age and even then he was still a cheeky little monkey. He fell asleep peacefully in my arms late last night, and I am going to miss him more than I can say :-(
Your website is lovely - really useful and informative for new owners especially.

Comments: Hii there.I have two chinchillas and they are doing fab!The only problem is that when we got to the pet shop we seem to spend a fortune on toys for them.Is there any other things we can give them to play with that we might find around the house,Like cardboard boxes or tubes.I have also heard that you can get a sock and you can fill it with bedding and they will play with that.It would be great if you could give me some ideas.Thanks Great website by the way
