hello, I have had my first chinchillas now three weeks. Dobby was two months old when i bought from a local pet shop.I have always had hamsters etc but when i heard about chinchillas and how so many of them are used for fur farming i had to have one and now!!! Dobby is the most amazing pet, he loves a good rub under hin chin, loves when i clean out his cage and he sit's and waits at the door every day when i get up for work and when i come home he just knows that he will be let out for a good run around the bedroom. Phoebe my dog thinks he is her new little friend but i still wont leave her in the room alone with dobby. I am already thinking of getting another maybe a female try to breed them I will have to let dobby settle first just so his nose aint too put out. Thanks for the website it gives so much information and help! regards nathalie

Hi, We have a one year old male chin called Diago. He is quite the handful. Very independant but can be affectionate. We think he needs company. He is let out for approximately three hours a night but we feel he is lacking company however when we got him from our local pet store he was on his own. How successfully would we be able to introduce him to another Chin. Does it have to be female? We live in a small property and do not have the room to cage them separately? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
