I just got a chinchilla and every time I come in the room or make a noise, he runs straight to the roof of his small nesting box. He won't take treats and if I try to put my hand in the cage, he just freezes and won't come near it.

Not to say he won't eat the treats, just not from my hand.

Thanks for the website though, it was really helpful.

Would like to learn more about keeping chinchillas.
Are they okay with cats. I don't mean actually playing with each other, but in the same vicinity.
What is the average cost of yong chins?

hey. i just got my 1st chinchilla on sat. 7 mth old male called stitch!

lucky 4 me he was already hand tamed so he is settling in well now.

I BOUGHT 1 CHINCHILLA 2YEARS AGO AND THEN GOT A FEMALE TO KEEP THE MALE COMPANY. THE FEMALE WAS PREGNANT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE SO AT EASTER WE ENDED UP WITH 3 CHINCHILLAS NOW THE FEMALE HAS JUST GIVEN BIRTH TO 2 MORE BABIES I THINK THESE ANIMALS ARE THE BEST PETS YOU COULD HAVE
