Comments: hello im new to chinchillas. i just got one last week. it has already been a whole week yay! (: i find this website the most helpful on learning about chinchillas. but i need a little bit of advice to get my chilla to warm up to me and get more used to his surroundings. I've wanted a chilla for a long time now im so happy i got one! His name is Justin. I also need a lot of information on what foods they can and cant eat cause my chilla is a really picky eater so far the only thing it'll eat is its pellets.

Comments: Hello, Im after a new or used bigger chinchilla cage for Eeyore, shes in one of your pics page 51/52. I notice many cages do not come with the wooden shelves already attached, can you recommend any reputable site to look at. Any suggestions would be of great help, plus any idea for a nice cage for one chinchilla would be fantastic. Thank you!

Comments: Hello! I am currently interested in getting a chinchilla and have been for a few years now. I have read about them on the internet for many months and have only today actually seen a real chinchilla in a pet store today. Its not the right time to get one yet, going to University in a few days, but I will still research about them. I have only been introduced to chinchillas since moving to New Zealand as they aren't in Australia. Anyways, your site is absolutely amazing with information and the varying sounds that they make!! Also the stories that people have put up about their chins is amazing! Its so nice knowing that people love and look after their chins so much. They are so touching. I'd hate to admit it, but I did cry a little when the story included or ended deaths of the chins... But they are still amazing! Thank you for making this site! I have found a lot of great information that can help me making my decision! Best of luck for you and your chins for the future!

Comments: Hi,just thought I'd pop in, always love the site, I'm just taking a wee break from hand feeding one of my latest arrivals, Stella had three kits on Thursday, by the Sunday she had rejected one of them...the smallest, I thought she wouldn't last the day when I found her on the base of the cage alone that morning, she was very small and frail, not moving, I cupped her in my hands and put her down the front of my tshirt, thinking she only had a few moments left... within half an hour she was moving, I bought KRM and have been feeding her every two hours to start with,0.5ml it's now up to three hrs and 1ml.She holds onto the side of the wee bottle and teet, I've had about five hours sleep altogether since Sunday.....but I'll tell you this.....it has been worth it to watch this little `Precious` (her name) girl surviving, we have a long way to go yet, but we'll get there. I will keep you updated and post a couple of photies of her . Talk soon I'm away for a coffee and a half hour snooze. Eileen
