Comments: Hi I have 3 Chinnies a mother and 2 daughters. Misty the eldest has just reached the age of 16. Our vet tells me this is fairley old for a chin and looking at the info available it looks like she is right. Does anyone know what age they usually live to. She is doing ok although has had a fall and knocked a tooth out. The vet is happy with her progress. As I am typing this Misty is running around the room looking for something naughty to do. Comments: Hi Everybody, I have a pet chinchilla named Pepe. I love him a lot, but I haven't been paying enough attention to him. I really do not want to give him away, but also I don't want him to feel neglected. I need to start paying more attention to him again. Please e mail me and tell me what to do. Comments: I read the story about Gizmo and I was very touched. I got my own chinchilla about a month ago from a pet store. She seemed perfectly fine when I brought her home, but just a week ago I had her out of her cage, and my boyfriend stepped into the room and startled her, she ran directly into a wall. My boyfriend's chinchilla always bounced off the walls when he got startled, so I thought it was strange. I checked her eyes, and sure enough there were cataracts. I love my little baby girl, and I'm doing what I can to make sure she's comfortable and safe.
