Comments: Sorry for not emailing last night. Daisy is now fine and is back home, reunited with mum.
The vets removed something from her mouth (I am not sure what, as I didn't pick her up). She was a bit slow coming around from the anaesthetic, but she was eating and drinking water afterwards. When she got home, her eyes were closed a bit, but I think she may have been a bit groggy still from the anaesthetic and tired, after a long day. As soon as she was in her cage, she jumped straight in the bath.
She was very energetic today, when I took her out, and is full of life, so i think she is back to normal now. Has been sleeping and cuddling to mum all day.
Thanks for the advice and emails Barbara.
Admin reply: So pleased to hear all is well and she is safely home with mum. I've sent you an email. Cheeky Chinchillas

Comments: Oh wow this site is great. I've had Chilli for nearly six years now and I had always wondered about the noises he was making. It's good to know he's just calling out and not annoyed (although he does tend to get annoyed when I stop him ripping wallpaper from the wall!).

Comments: Hello. I am in the very early stages of investigating the possibility of owning a chinchilla. I realize that having a pet is very serious and shouldn't be entered into lightly. I would like a couple of questions answered if at all possible... Thanks in advance!!!
!. How much does it cost per year to own a chinchilla?
2. How much time per day should you spend interacting with your chinchilla?
3. How often should your chinchilla see a vet?
Thanks for our help!!!
Admin reply: Thank you for visiting. I have sent you an email with some details and a basic care sheet. Cheeky Chinchillas

Comments: Just a little update on my chinchillas. I took your advice and took them to vets today. There was no problem with Chinny but Daisy seems to have some sort of infection in her mouth (she was being cheeky with the vet by biting on the microscope as she was trying to look in her mouth).
Daisy is to go in on Friday under General anaestheic to sort it out.
I will let you know on friday, how it went.
Thanks again for the advice.
Vickie, Chinny and Daisy.
