this website really made me think how a chinchilla would make a good pet for me but even though they are expensive i really want one my mother said if i want one i have to make the money myself. i m going to mow the lawn things like that. i have to make $418.70 inculeding tax i have $20 my uncle gave it to me cause he wants me to get one to.

I found your site while looking for info on hand feeding my older chin (about 14) who had quit eating on her own due to tooth spurs, according to the vet. Your info was very helpful and the video of Nenya is so charming! I hand fed my Bunny Girl for 2 months while waiting for the vet to decide whether or not to try to fix her teeth and then went to another vet with more experience since my chin also had a heart murmur. Unfortunately, Bunny didn't come out of the anaesthetic very good and I ended up having to have her put to sleep the next day. What was interesting though was the fact that while she did have a couple tooth spurs, her main problem was that her top teeth had worn down to the gum line and she had developed gingivitis. The vet said it wasn't detectable until they were able to get right into her mouth and that she'd never be able to feed herself again. He said he had seen this once in an old horse. I would think this is very rare in a rodent whose teeth are supposed to continually grow. The vet felt too that the infection in her gums was contributing to the heart problem. I'm sad to have lost her but she gave us lots of smiles while she was here. Thanks for a very good and educational site.

hi i really liked your webstie. Im looking at buying a chinchilla and it told me alot of the infomation that i wanted to find out. I was still wondering if its is better for chinchillas to live with same sex companions, opposite or on their own? And what kind of cage is best?
