Comments: I use to go to BOCES for small animal care and i never knew about chinchillas, and i remember touring the class and when i came across the one they had, I FELL IN LOVE! they're amazing CUTE and adorable!!! I was obessed, i took care of him like nobody ever could do or expect, i use to even buy him food and a cube that you hang for him to sleep and play, i use to collect shoeboxes and cut them for his little hide-outs, which he always chewed away at anyway lol. I always wanted his cage set up MY way, my classmates were mad at me about it, but at that time i didnt care i loved him alot and it showed. His name was Elmo but i changed it. Now i dont know where he is or who has him, but I pray to God he is happy and healthy like all other chinchillas in the world. I miss him so bad. Never forget him. If i had my way i would have kept him. I even saw a Go Diego Go episode on chinchillas, haha. Awesome site !! I'm glad i found this! keep it up!

I got my 2 chinchillas yesterday and they are so cute,they were named Chinny and Daisy but we have shortened it to ChiChi and D. Chinny, the little stinker starting nibbling my watch and D loves my nails. We gave them their first bath with us, they were so cute and funny. One of the dogs is so fascinated with them, he just sits and watches them. I can't wait to get them out and play with them. Was just wondering how often should I change the sand/dust in their bath.

I have been giving 2 chinchillas by a mate and they are mother and daughter. They bought the mother about a yr ago from a pet shop but didnt realise that she was pregnant, she had 2 babies (a girl and a boy). They decided to keep all 3. But know my mate has gone to uni and her mum can't look after the 3, so she has asked me to have them. I have never had a chinchilla before, and I was wondering because, they are from someone else and not a bredder or pet shop is there anything special I need to do so they can get used to me, my family and our 2 large dogs.
